چکیده

At CRYPTO’16, Beierle et al. presented SKINNY, a family of lightweight tweakable block ciphers intended to compete with SIMON. SKINNY can be implemented efficiently in both softand hardware, possesses a SubstitutionPermutation-Network structure, and supports block sizes of 64 and 128 bits as well as key and tweak sizes of 64, 128, 192, and 256 bits. This paper outlines a related-tweakey impossibledifferential attack on 21 rounds of SKINNY-64/128 and two attacks on 22 and 23 rounds of SKINNY-64/128 under the assumption that 48 bits of the tweakey are public.

Impossible Differential Cryptanalysis on Deoxys-BC-256

Deoxys is a final-round candidate of the CAESAR competition. Deoxys is built upon an internal tweakable block cipher Deoxys-BC, where in addition to the plaintext and key, it takes an extra non-secret input called a tweak. This paper presents the first impossible differential cryptanalysis of Deoxys-BC-256 which is used in Deoxys as an internal tweakable block cipher. First, we find a 4.5-round...

Impossible Differential Cryptanalysis of Reduced-Round Midori64 Block Cipher (Extended Version)

Impossible differential attack is a well-known mean to examine robustness of block ciphers. Using impossible differ- ential cryptanalysis, we analyze security of a family of lightweight block ciphers, named Midori, that are designed considering low energy consumption. Midori state size can be either 64 bits for Midori64 or 128 bits for Midori128; however, both vers...

Cryptanalysis of Reduced round SKINNY Block Cipher

SKINNY is a family of lightweight tweakable block ciphers designed to have the smallest hardware footprint. In this paper, we present zero-correlation linear approximations and related-tweake impossible differential characteristics for different versions of SKINNY. We utilize meet-in-the-middle approach to construct 9-round and 10-round zero-correlation linear distinguisher. We also obtain 12-r...

Impossible Differential Cryptanalysis of Reduced-Round SKINNY

SKINNY is a new lightweight tweakable block cipher family proposed by Beierle et al. at CRYPTO 2016. SKINNY has 6 main variants where SKINNY-n-t is a block cipher that operates on n-bit blocks using t-bit tweakey (key and tweak) where n = 64 or 128 and t = n, 2n, or 3n. In this paper, we present impossible differential attacks against reduced-round versions of all the 6 members of the SKINNY fa...

Related-Key Impossible Differential Attacks on Reduced-Round AES-256

In this paper we examine the strength of AES-256 against the related-key impossible differential attack, following the work in [1] and [2]. Firstly, we present a carefully chosen relation between the related keys, which can be extended to 8-round(even more rounds) subkey differences. Then, we construct a 5.5-round related-key impossible differential. Using the differential, we present an attack...
